At Hearts & Hands Food Pantry, we believe that serving our community is a calling, and our Food Pantry is a shining example of this commitment. With open arms and hearts filled with compassion, we welcome everyone in need, regardless of their circumstances or background. No proof of income or address is required – if you arrive before 9 am on any Saturday morning, we will provide you with nourishing food to sustain you and your loved ones.
Our pantry is truly a testament to the generosity of our community. We are blessed to receive major food donations from Safeway grocery stores, as well as contributions from Loaf & Jug and other local businesses. Additionally, several local churches have joined us in supporting this vital ministry, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.
Leading our pantry efforts are Cassandra Chitmon, our dedicated Pantry Director. Cassandra’s unwavering presence and tireless work ethic are truly inspiring, as she seems to be ever-present, ensuring that every aspect of the pantry runs smoothly.
Behind the scenes, a team of dedicated volunteers works tirelessly to keep the pantry running smoothly. From picking up food from various locations to cleaning, sorting, and organizing the donations, their efforts are invaluable. On Saturday mornings, even more volunteers join in to distribute the food with care and compassion.
While we are grateful for the abundance of food donations, the needs of our community continue to grow rapidly. Funds are always needed to sustain and expand our efforts, but we also rely heavily on the dedication of our volunteers. If you feel called to lend a helping hand, we welcome your support in the following areas:
